Magicon offers a large selection of cosplay competitions and sometimes it can be a bit confusing to keep track of the time, place and criteria for all of them. So, we’ve made this overview to make it a bit easier to keep track of them all!
Below you will find two overview tables with general information about which day each competition is held at Magicon Unchained, as well as participation criterias, and when sign-up opens for each of the competitions.

Magicon Unchained cosplay competition overview in text format
1. Cosplay Catwalk
Criteria: Sign-up happens on saturday, the day of the catwalk.
This is not a competition and will not be judged.It’s just for fun.
2. Performance competition
Criteria: Sign-up opens 22. March 2025. There is a prize for the winners.
The performance competition is judged solely on performance and stage presence by a panel of judges. There will be a tech test for participants.
3. The Cosplay Competition
Criteria: Sign-up opens 21. February 2025. There is a prize for the winners in the Classic and Master Category.
Participants will be pre-judged by a panel of judges, and on stage during your performance. Craftsmanship and performance will be judged 60/40. Participants must also be present for a tech test on the day of the competition. 60% of the costume must be made by you.
4. Catwalk Competition
Criteria: Sign-up opens 1. Juni 2025. There will be prizes for the winners. Catwalk competition takes place on Sunday.
5. Craftsmanship Competition
Criteria: Sign-up opens 8. March 2025. There will be prizes for the winners.
Competition is judged 100% on craftsmanship in a pre-judging with our judging panel. 90% of the costume must be selfmade.
You must be 18 years or older to participate in this competition. The craftsmanship contest takes place on Sunday.
6. Master DUO Competition
Criteria: Sign-up opens 14. Februar 2025. There will be prizes for the winners.
The Competition is judged 50% on performance and 50% on Craftsmanship. 70% of the costume must be selfmade.
You must be 18 years or older to participate in the Master DUO competition.This competition takes place on Sunday.
7. Cosplay Photo Competition
Criteria: Sign-up opens 1. March 2025. There will be prizes for the winners.
Photos submitted to the contest will be displayed at Magicon Unchained both days.
Finalists will be pre-judged and chosen by a judge outside of Magicon. The audience will vote for a winner among the chosen finalists.
The winner will be announced on Sunday.
