Magicon is always looking for new volunteers who are enthusiastic about cosplay and geek culture, above 18 years old and willing to put in the effort to make something truly magical.
As part of the Magicon crew, you’ll have the opportunity to work with one of Norway’s largest conventions. Our team is a diverse mix; from experienced managers, to students and everything in-between, cosplayers and non-cosplayers alike. This diversity is key to creating content that appeals to all corners of the community.
Info Crew:
This is the creative and cozy team that focuses on communication and marketing!
Before, and at the con, they manage all of our social media channels and ensure visitors have all the information they need. They do anything from graphic design and writing, to promotional planning and artwork creation. The Info Crew works hard all year around, shaping our event’s messaging and marketing to keep excitement building from start to finish!
This crew is perfect for creatives who love social media, content creation, and getting the word out. You’ll manage our online presence and help design campaigns to engage our attendees.
Tech Crew:
They make sure our hosts and the competition contenders looks their absolute best on stage!
Magicon does hire professionals for our tech needs. Despite this, we still need people to bridge the gap to ensure volunteers and tech professionals can work together smoothly. Being in the tech crew is a wonderful opportunity to learn about how a stage show is produced from a technical perspective.
If you’ve got AV skills, good communication qualities and enjoy working with tech experts, this crew might just be for you. We would love to get your help to ensure everyone looks their best on stage!
Security Crew:
Don’t let the name fool you – our security crew is one of the most chill teams you’ll find! They have less to do before the con than other crews, but during the event, their role becomes essential.
Focusing on safety and proactive planning, they handle a variety of tasks. Everything from establishing prop rules and planning the rigging of the venue, and patrolling and monitoring designated areas at the con. This crew creates a safe environment and makes sure everyone follows the rules.
If you’re empathetic, an excellent problem solver, and able to remain calm under pressure, we’d love to have you on this team!
FeelGood Crew:
The name says it all! These guys are a lot of fun, and that is exactly what their job requires!
The social gatherings for the crew members are arranged by the FeelGood Crew. This ensures crew members have fun not only at the con, but through the whole year. They also make sure fellow crew members, invited guests and visitors alike are looked after and get everything they need through the con weekend. Who wouldn’t appreciate having such a lovely group in our crew?
Are you an outgoing, creative individual that enjoys helping others have a good time? Then the FeelGood Crew might just be looking for you!
Event Crew:
Maybe you remember all the amazing competitions, panels and meet ups you have been to at Magicon? The event crew are the creators and managers behind it all.
Both before and during the event, their list of tasks are many and varied. They contact and maintain relations with potential guests, plan content down to every little detail and execute it all at the convention. They also make sure the program is tailored to our attendees’ interests and preferences.
Do you wanna spend time shaping the convention into something magical? If you are a dedicated planner and problem-solver that loves turning ideas into reality, we would love to have you by our side!
In addition to convention work, we offer plenty of fun activities throughout the year, like social gatherings, gaming nights, first aid courses, Project Academy and much more!
